Homework assistance is at the center after school
hours.
Any students from kindergarten to twelve grade can come and get help.
Since our staff speak many languages, there's no doubt that we can't help.
A one-to-one tutoring assistance is available.
We do encourage children and their parents come to
the center after school and use this service on a daily basis if it is possible.
ASALEC will have ESL classes set up at the center.
Two sessions will be held one in the morning and the other in the evening.
Many non-profit agencies cannot handle enrollments; we think this is the good
chance for those who want to register for ESL classes to better themselves for
work and communication. With the assistance in primary language, adult
students will become active staying in schools. There is no doubt that
today if they don't speak the language, they will have a lot of difficulties
while at work, medical clinic, and other places.
Interpretation is provided by phone if staff is
available to court, medical, INS, and other places. Interpretation
assistance is available to the public if the notice is given at least one day in
advance.
Translation service is available only at the
center. Documents that ASALEC can help are INS, court, reports, family
documents, and so on. If the staff is available for the entire
translation, the documents must be brought in to the office for service.
Group counseling can consist of parents,
grandparents, children, school counselor, and other legal providers. This
does often take place at the school sites. ASALEC intends to provide the
best service to children and their legal guardians.
